Residual sugar: 1,2 g/l
Appearance: Has an intense robe with cherry-red colour and blue highlights. Clean, bright and extremely well presented.
Nose: Very nice complexity in the nose aromas. The red fruits (raspberry and bilberry) dominate over the liquorice and species as nutmeg and pink pepper. It is enhanced by sweet touches of balsamic notes, cacao and toffee.
Taste: The taste has an excellent silky structure, well balanced and full-flavoured, with sweet and round tannins married to nice acidity, giving a fresh, harmonic tone to the palate. Long and elegant finish.

WINEMAKER’S NOTES: The Tempranillo grapes used in this wine come from La Horra and from vines average age 40 years. Soils are clay, loam and sandy at 800-840 meters of altitude.  After being hand-harvested and undergoing cluster selection in the vineyards, the grapes are destemmed and go through gravity-controlled tanks, with five to six days of cold-skin maceration prior to fermentation. An additional two months of maturation follow, with malolactic fermentation taking place. The wine is aged for twelve months in 225 L barrels (75-percent French and 25-percent American oak). It is then aged an additional one year in bottle before leaving the cellar.

The 2016 harvest was characterized by a good yield production. The climatology conditions with heavy rains during winter and spring, very dry summer gave very healthy berries. The harvesting took place from September 29th –October20th and gave to the wines powerful black fruit aromas, balance tannins, intense colour and low acidity.

The 2016 vintage was qualified as VERY GOOD.

This wine is ideally served at the temperature of 16 ºC (61 ºF) to accompany pork and beef dishes stews, as well as hard cheese.

Recomended consumption time from now until 2028.
